In a bold exploration of spatial aesthetics, Marsèll opens its first flagship store in Milan, brought to life by the innovative minds at Berlin’s Lotto Studio.

The space transcends conventional retail design, offering a contemplative journey through minimalism and modernity. Marsèll's vision was clear: create a sanctuary inspired by the precision of Marcel Breuer’s architecture and the serenity of Carlo Scarpa’s designs. Nestled in Milan’s Quadrilatero della Moda, this store is the result of an eight-month collaboration between Marsèll and Lotto Studio. The space embodies a blend of modern comfort and timeless solemnity, meticulously designed to showcase Marsèll’s collection in a tranquil environment.

The store is thoughtfully organized over two floors. The ground floor features men’s and women’s collections alongside a gallery space for collaborative art projects. A grand staircase with a striking walnut bookcase connects to the basement, a multifunctional forum displaying the Marsèll Gomme line and hosting meetings and exhibitions. The design, with terraces around a central area and a versatile curtain system, allows for dynamic use of the space.

Materials were chosen with meticulous care, balancing simplicity and sophistication. The interplay of stone-earth and space-air elements defines the interior’s geometry. Travertine and walnut wood mark the women’s and men’s areas, respectively, while stainless steel, glass, leather, and translucent fabrics echo Marsèll’s aesthetic. Perimeter walls of cement and Brenta river pebble grit frame a flexible interior dedicated to showcasing artists and creatives.

Marco Cima, Creative Director and Founder of Marsèll, emphasizes the brand’s meticulous approach: “Our obsession with and constant research into materials allowed us to create a space that seamlessly integrates design and craftsmanship.”

Marsèll’s flagship store transcends the concept of retail, embodying the brand’s philosophy and history. The design balances experimentation and timelessness, contextualizing products and brand ethos in an environment crafted to engage and inspire visitors.
