WCL Chair is a minimal chair created by Montreal-based industrial designer Will Choui.

The WCL Chair, as the name strongly suggests, is inspired by the famous LCW Chair by Ray & Charles Eames. Not strikingly obvious at first glance, this isn’t an aesthetic interpretation of the modern masterpiece but took its almost perfect skeletal form, dimensions and angles as the point of inspiration.

Like the LCW, this lounge began with humble materials and a simple brief; to design a comfortable chair using limited resources and processes. First made out of a single 8 foot long piece of 2×4 lumber, the WCL has evolved into a highly refined, hand polished, tubular stainless steel version, shown here and available as an editioned work.
