Seating Element 01 is a minimal stackable seating element created by Rotterdam-based designer Johan Viladrich.

SE01 is a stackable seating element in brushed and anodised aluminium. Its architectonic qualities emerge from a desire to reduce the structure of a stool to an absolute minimum. Here, two verticals are connected to one horizontal with stainless steel bolts, and it is only the angle of the verticals that ensures the 3-dimensional stability of the entire structure.

The stool was designed with the idea to use an entire rectangular aluminium profile of 200x20mm. One piece uses a fifth of the profile and when five pieces are placed sides to sides they form a pentagon. The stools can then be stacked onto one another and form various spatial compositions.
