Mass Table by Studio Ross Gardam

Mass Table by Studio Ross Gardam

Sep 12, 2024

Studio Ross Gardam unveiled the Mass Table, a limited edition piece that fuses minimalist design with raw natural elements, exploring the balance between form and mass.

The Mass Table’s design is a study in contrasts. Its smooth, flawless surface sharply juxtaposes with the raw, seemingly uncut stone meticulously placed at its base. This stone not only anchors the table but also creates a visual tension between artificial perfection and natural imperfection, giving the table its extraordinary aesthetic. The table appears to balance gracefully on its narrow pedestal, a testament to the careful consideration of static balance in its design.

Industrial forms of the Mass Table undergo a meticulous process: they are first bead-blasted and then hand-waxed. This treatment softens the aluminum, enhancing its tactile quality and giving it a unique, inviting feel. Each table is paired with a unique stone offcut, resulting in seven distinct individual editions. Every table is marked with an individual edition number, the manufacturer’s mark, and comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity personally signed by Gardam.
