Jordi and África's House by TEd’A arquitectes
@zaxarovcom
Dec 15, 2020

Located on a relatively small site in Mallorca, Spain is Jordi and Àfrica’s House by TEd’A Arquitectes. This layout created an opportunity which compacted the house along one side whilst maintaining its street façade and maximizing its patio space, which has ample solar access.

This Majorcan house reuses marés stone intertwining the past and present its island character. It is ordered in a way bidirectional being a corner plot, there is a dominant direction, it wants to look everywhere. Aiming for the wall structure to be the protagonist of the space, services are placed in the perimeter, forming a thick façade, liberating the centre of the plan and allowing for visual and use relations between the rooms.

The habitable sctructure coincides with the bearing walls structure. In these walls exterior windows are opened facing the street as well as interior windows facing the other rooms. There is no difference between them. The materialization of these walls will be fundamental in the construction process.
