The concrete volume is part of a house extension designed by Fala Atelier that is situated in a lush garden in Porto.

The minimalist design of the building emphasizes the surrounding greenery. Fala Atelier took inspiration from Henri Rousseau's painting "The Dream" when creating the concept for the project, named "A Very Tiny Palazzo". Although the garden is narrow and compact, it is filled with lush vegetation that evokes the famous painting. With a simple rectangular form and a concrete crown adorned with precious stones, the architects designed the extension. This solid element spans across the perimeter walls. It is the glazing that completes the envelope, bringing ample light into the interiors and allowing them to be immersed in the verdant surroundings.

Fala Atelier is an architecture practice based in Porto, Portugal. Founded in 2013, the atelier works with methodic optimism on a wide range of projects, from territories to birdhouses.
