Réhabilitation de Ferme by Collet & Muller Architects
@zaxarovcom
Jun 2, 2020

Born from a cooperation between Yves Collet and Dominique Burger, later joined by Christophe Muller, Collet & Muller Architects is an architecture practice based in Malakoff, France.

The team of Collet & Muller Architectes recently have completed renovation of an old farm in Seine et Marne, France. As they say „the aim of this project was to transform an old farm into a new comfortable hunting lodge.”

To compete the task the architects strived to modify the use of living spaces both of the inside and outside of the building, with the use of slight modifications, yet forming splendid metamorphosis. „Ground floors have been raised to a new courtyard. Rooms are linked in a row around this new courtyard. We used big windows to bring light and massive joinery to transform the landscape into painting from the inside of the rooms. We selected some parts of the existing structure to be part of this new atmosphere”, the architects describe.

After the intervention of Collet & Muller Architectes, an old farm rooted to its land for years, gained new, yet respectful shape, emphasizing its value and simple beauty.
